Последние обновления, представленные в MIUI 11, включают в себя новые темы, звуки природы для будильника, постоянные значки уведомлений и многие другие особенности. Тем не менее, один, казалось бы, безобидный значок может стать причиной серьёзных претензий в адрес Xiaomi. Символ зарядки был немного изменён и теперь он напоминает рунические знаки, использованные организацией Schutzstaffel, более известной как СС или «отряды охраны» Адольфа Гитлера.
Ранее значок зарядки просто располагался поверх значка аккумулятора. Тем не менее, компания Xiaomi, похоже, решила подчеркнуть наличие технологии быстрой зарядки в своих новейших смартфонах, например, в серии Xiaomi Mi 9, использовав при этом более одного символа молнии. Пользователи теперь могут видеть две молнии, объединённых вместе, что ассоциируется со знаком СС, который был использован военизированным формированием, ответственным за убийство миллионов мирных жителей во время Второй мировой войны.
Ещё прискорбнее то, что знаки отличия СС были сложены из двух «зиг» рун, которые символизировали победу и были преднамеренно переработаны, чтобы также выглядеть как молния. На данный момент половина людей видит очевидное сходство, а половина – нет. Тем не менее, некоторые пользователи могут потребовать упразднить новую иконку, чтобы избежать конфликтов.
