Empyrion galactic survival или space engineers что лучше
Well, the campaign story probably will have an ending. After all, it’s intended to be a campaign story.
Current status, though, is that it’s «work in progress». What is good from the playability point-of-view is that the devs are implementing it in a chronological order instead of doing bits and pieces here and there. Meaning that all the chapters of the story that are there now are fully playable and complete up to the last one there is. The rest of the chapters will come in later updates i.e. the story as a whole is not yet complete, so no ending in that sense.
Outside the campaign story you can also play it as a full open world survival game without the story line. Then you are essentially creating the story yourself.
As for the differences between Space Engineers and Empyrion it’s mostly what others have already said. I think the main points are these:
Space Engineers has the best building system. Of any game I have seen, not just Empyrion. That’s its greatest strength. Specifically, the engineering aspects of it and the freedom to create grids that can have sub-grids that can move in relation to each other and the support for scripts that can go really deep in their coding.
The greatest weakness of Space Engineers is its lack of exploration and survival content. The vanilla game is basically a sandbox where you have to create all the content. Mods somewhat cure this by providing enemies and other stuff but as with mods always, they have their limits.
In Empyrion it’s basically the opposite. The building system is not actually bad but it’s nothing special, either. It’s «ordinary», let’s say. What you would expect in your standard game. It’s also more oriented towards cosmetics and how things look as opposed to how things function. You can make pretty sleek and cool looking ships in Empyrion but you don’t have to actually engineer anything. Everything just works «by magic». If you are not interested in the engineering aspects then this drawback probably isn’t a drawback and the sheer number of the available block shapes will blow you away. OTOH if you did want the engineering problems, then you will curse it.
The greatest strength in Empyrion is its survival and exploration content. You have life on the planets. Animals, NPCs, interacting factions, all the works. Really, as far as survival and exploration are concerned it has everything Space Engineers is lacking. If this is your gripe with Space Engineers, you’ll love Empyrion.
So, yes, engineering or survival play? That’s the choice, really.
If only someone would make a game that combined Space Engineers and Empyrion.

Title basically says it all. I’m looking for a new game to get my squad and one of them suggested Space Engineers while I found Empyrion. We were playing 7 days to die and Terraria before that if that gives you any indication of our preferences.
What is the differences between these 2 games as of 2021 and is one better at one thing than the other? Compared to 7D2D and Terraria which is closest to that?
I think I am a good person to comment on this question because I have both games and like them both.
If I had to boil it down it comes to two things.
Space engineers is about building with some light combat aspects and so unless you can find a good pvp server or unless you can enjoy just building stuff you will get bored quickly.
Empyrion is about combat with a strong focus on building but the building aspect is childs play compared to what you can do in space engineers.
So in conclusion. both games have strong and weak points and in an idea world I would love for Empyrion to have the same level of building options as Space engineers but it will probably never happen but on the same token Space engineers is not very fun unless you like JUST building or unless you can find a good pvp server.

In an actual server with other people, you may have some fun because it is a sandbox and you may do as please in it, but it is far too unstable and, again, you’ll get bored from no content eventually.
Empyrion has the type of content SE should have, even though it’s still lacking in so many areas, but it doesn’t have the features that you would expect from a game like this. Take physics, for example. There’s none. You can’t walk inside your ship while in movement, the transition between space and planet/moon is not seamless, it is instanced, etc.
Both have good features, but I would recommend neither.
Starbase, StarshipEVO (Even though it is ridiculously early access) and Dual Universe (also still too early) would be the only games of this nature that I would recommend. Take a look at them, you might enjoy them instead.
SE is a good game for building but you have to use mods if you want to be able to actually do something with your creations. Empyrion isn’t as complex a builder and I wish it had crash physics but I have twice as many hours in Empyrion because there is just more fun to be had there.
And don’t get me started on the SE/mod.io debacle. That put the final nail in the SE coffin for me. There is no way I’m going to be forced to create an account with a 3rd party company, giving them access to my data, just to play a game that I have owned for years.

If your crew is coming from 7d2d you will find Empyrion more to your liking due to the combat aspects.
Building actually matters when your taking it into combat. If some of the group is not into the building aspects, the workshop has tons of stuff to use.
Empyrion is far better for a small group, and mods ( found on the workshop) like reforged eden encourage having a group to take down tougher challenges. Space combat and some ground Poi’s.
Nothing like landing on a planet and having 4 players jumping into hover tanks, or small flyers to assault a drone base or missile silo.
There are so many differences in the 2 games not sure where to start.
Development: SE has never been more than about building. They have also been completely honest from where I sit.
EGS (Empyrion) was meant to be about more but is half finished out Early Access and it’s updates have been lacking content that appears to matter to many based on comments.
Gameplay: There are many things that EGS could do better if they was not full of so many half completed Features/Mechanics.
SE may lack in PVE content in the base game but has made room for modders to do a lot to improve the game with some what more ease.
I am going to stop here because if you look around the forums speaking against this game is not well received by Eleon or those under their employ.
Been playing Empyrion, Space Engineers and 7D2D.
Space Engineers: 90% building, 10% survival/story/exploration
Empyrion: 50% building, 50% s/s/e
7D2D: 25% building, 75% s/s/e
Empyrion hits the sweetspot for me but all three games are decent in their own way.
I have both games and despite my displayed play time I have about 150 hours give or take 20 or so in both.
Empyrion however is a survival game with building. The building isn’t as indepth or complicated in most regards compared to SE. You’re never going to be able to build a mech in Empyrion that can actually walk, or transform into something else, or a giant moon that can eat asteroids like you can in SE but that’s not the focus of Empyrion. Exploration, survival, combat take priorities over the building in Empyrion. And as far as I know there will eventually be a story.
TL;DR
Both games ARE ABSOLUTELY STABLE IN MULTIPLAYER. Well SE is, I’ve never played Empyrion multiplayer.
They both have voxel deformation, meaning digging tunnels and underground bases and have the same issues that come along with it.
Space Engineers is mainly about being a space engineer.
Modding community is more robust in SE.
Empyrion has Piddlefoot
Space Engineers has Splitsie
Empyrion has more survival elements that don’t require mods.
Empyrion is slated to have a storyline.
Empyrion actually has a tutorial. Or at least it did, and at the time I played it many years ago it was far better than what SE had to offer.
SE has a more realistinc, indepth, and for all it’s pros, a more tedious construction process.
Empyrion’s building system is easier, but no where near as indepth and no where near as tedious.

I’ve had SE much longer, and played this more.
SE has it’s advantages. It is maybe a bit more technical and mechanical feeling, the ships fly a bit nicer I think. But, I’ve had much more, easy, exciting fun on Empyrion.
More to do, explore, and I like the crafting, it’s easy to get into and do a lot with in Empyrion.
Crafting is a bit of a pain on SE, and it feels more clunky.
Obviously, both games are changing a lot, all the time still so.
My vote for fun MP survival is empyrion atm.
What Outblader said. it’s too addictive. I told myself I would play for 2 hours yesterday and stayed up until 3.30am. Pass a milestone and the next one just seems soooo close, just gotta get that ore/get your SV finished.
My friend always makes fun of me for buying games, playing a few hours then getting bored and never playing again. In contrast, I’m sinking 50+ hrs a week into this game :O
(Addictive in a good way though. doesn’t feel like wasted time at all, since you save all your creations as blueprints)
Harsh evaluation for someone who does not have Space Engineers in the game list.
I don’t have EGS, but I can definetly see its advantages over SE. But It’s more of a slander than evaluation to just say «It’s a crap» without at least 10 hours in game.
I also have both games.
I like SE for building machines—it has pistons, rotors, complex building. I still haven’t explored the planets fully in SE.
I like Empyrion for the survival elements. The building is a lot simpler, the focus is more on staying alive, growing/hunting food, fighting off aliens.
At this moment in time, I think Empyrion has more for me to do than SE. But if you buy one of these two games, you may eventually end up buying the other game too 😉
I have played roughly 3-4 hours of both games and here is my early list. Skip to end for very quick 1 line verdicts.
1. Visuals are nicer
2. Smaller blocks make building more pleasing imo
3. Mining animations are nicer
1. Game is very complicated imo i want to play not study for a mechanics degree
2. Why make me place blocks then weld seperately, this infuriated me but i can see why it is this way for the target audience becuase it is an «Engineering» Sim
3. Lag, I have a decent system and the lag on planets is severe sometimes
4. No real survival mechanics which is the type of game I like so not fair to knock SE for this but it is a con imo for waht i want from a game
1. Survival elements which is what i want from a game as i like survival games and this will hopefully improve throughout Alpha/Beta
2. A little easier to get into and just play without too much brain processing
1. Graphics are no where near on par with SE. I am looking forward to the 8th April patch which is listed to improve textures, I just hope its by a lot. Graphics don’t make the game but they are a factor
2. Size of blocks that you place are huge, even bigger than my character. Let’s pretend my character in game is 6ft tall. The blocks are 7ft x 7ft x 7ft. How am i supposed to design detail into my builds with blocks this size. In comparision to SE you can build blocks which are more like 6 inches (0.5ft) allowing you to create alot of variation and detail.
If you want to play an engineering sim get SE
If you want to play a survival game get EGS
If you liek both styles of games get both becuase whilst they are both space based games they are very different. It would be like comparing Coffee with Tea, both warm drinks but different.
i don’t either, deosn’t mean i havn’t played it 😉 SE sucks compared to this.
I think both have their advantages.
In SE i got more fun in constructing things, but playing around with my constructions is more interesting in EMP. Since SE got planets, both titels got more compareable in the end, but for me they did not bring what i had expected there. EMP does much better work in creating a survival feeling and a real gameplay that i would connect with this aspect. On the other hand i allways miss some depth in EMPs technical part, that feels a little bit to rudimentary for me. For exsample I realy miss presurized rooms in bases and ships in EMP. I was hoping for a better experience on SEs planets, but there are only few starting scenarios to select from and if i tried my own sandbox scenarios there, i could not get the AI involved enough to get some real fun out of it. Bright and less precise DX11 grafics in SE as well as AI encounters and NPCs added without love lets me reduce my SE playtime more and more. But as a real advantage id quote SEs workshop features, that allow players to not only construct vehicles, they can create whole new gamefeatures and mechanics there. SE is living from this aspect! I think SE was ment as some sort of massive multiplayer experience while EMP put much more effort in single player gaming and provides lots of fun playing it alone.
Finally id say SE is a construction game with minor survival aspects while EMP is a survival game with some descent construction aspects..so for me EMP would make the race 🙂
(It will for sure if they implement pressurized rooms here one day;)

В империоне намного лучше развита сетевая составляющая и с оптимизацией лучше
Мне нравятся «Инженеры» за атмосферу одиночества. Выходишь утром из базы, кругом тишина, и только ветер воет среди камней. Ни животных, ни птиц, ни инопланетян каких-нибудь. Кажется, что я совершенно один на всей планете. Кроме того нравятся размеры планет. Видишь перед собой гору, решаешь забраться на вершину, и на это может уйти весь игровой день. Еще нравится, что когда строишь корабль, все баки нужно соединить с движками трубами, контейнеры соединяются трубами и все такое. Зайдешь в корабль, видишь переплетение труб и проводов, и сразу становится понятно, что это сложный механизм.

Руслан, Я согласен. И в одной, и в другой игре есть свои плюсы и минусы. Плюсы «Инженеров» я уже описал. Минусы в том, что планеты пустые (это и плюс и минус одновременно), и делать на них в общем-то нечего.
«Эмпирион» все-таки более насыщенная и более населеная (что тоже и плюс, и минус одновременно).
К слову в «инжах» через конвейер перемещается всё – уран, кислород, водород, снаряды, что не является изящным решением.

В «инженерах» с этой физикой также проблем хватает, которые исправляют лишь «костылями». в свою очередь неработающими. Пример: блокировка ротора.
Ибрагим, тут вся игра ведёт себя как один ротор ) физики никогда не было, нету и не предвидится ) в инженерах хоть какое то подобие физики есть.
Михаил, Все претензии к рукожопым программистам, которые прогуливали уроки физики в школе ) чтобы точно эмулировать физику, надо досконально её знать, а большинство программистов её знают на уровне типа она есть и чего то там делает.
собственно физика в играх полностью отражает наш уровень знаний об окружающем мире и реальное состояние дел в физике )

Алексей, ну так объясни про вторую половину, если ты такой умный. а то говорить то вы все мастера, а объяснить никто ничего не может.
для точных расчётов физики со всеми возможными параметрами потребуются суперкомпьютеры, поэтому мы имеем в играх то, что имеем, лишь условную имитацию физики. для игр этого более чем достаточно. с точной эмуляцией физики никто бы не смог играть в эти игры, так как пришлось бы физику и еще кучу наук учить чтобы собрать корабль )

I haven’t gotten this game yet, but I have been looking at a few videos and I’m liking what I’m seeing.
As far as I can tell, the only game that comes close to this one is Space Engineers. And so I’m wondering how other people think they stand up vs eachother as they stand now.

2: Space engineers is an engineering game. You build amazing machines, but there’s not a lot to do with them. Empyrion is a survival game. You build pretty cool machines, not amazing tho, and do stuff with them. Lots of stuff, like explore, raid and fight.
