I just made another uplay account and activated Tom clany’s Rainbowsix siege Standard edition. But on my previous uplay account i had it connected to the steam version of rainbow six siege. Do i have to reinstall the game on uplay for this new account to work or is there a way that i can locate the game files and just open it with uplay/new account.

If you were previously playing on Steam and you’ve now bought the Uplay version you will need to install the Uplay version as they’re managed differently. Hope this helps!

I have a steam version Rainbow 6 siege.
Now if I receive an uPlay verion game key, do I need to download the whole game again as well?
I couldn’t locate the game files from uPlay. Game is in a steam folder and uPlay couldn’t find the files from there.
I got it resolved.
I just hit the Download button and saved the game to the same Steam folder, where the game was already installed.
It started verifing the files and downloaded 500mb before completing it all in 15 minutes.
Hope this helps anyone who faces the same problem in the future.

My main account is now asking for activation.
I tried doing what you suggested to do. It may have actually f up my main account and now when try opening my main account it’s now asking for activation codes. Note: I bought my second siege in uplay directly. and i main account I bought in steam.
Its not your fault tho, it’s entirely mine, I just don’t know what to do now. But before doing all that I managed to save another copy of the first siege from my steam library. Now I tried doing revert to cloud save, still asking for activation.
I can’t verify Syndicate game files using Uplay. «can’t verify game files, please reinstall..» but reinstalling is not a solution.
if UPlay failed to verify game files then there is something wrong in installation and most probably its the cause of your crashes, so first things first, lets repair your game installation by doing the following:
1. Copy the game to a different folder/drive.
2. Uninstall the game from UPlay.
3. Restart UPlay as admin.
4. Click on «Download» button in the game window.
5. when it prompts you for install location, browse to where you copied the game to in step 1.
6. UPlay will discover game files and only download necessary corrupted ones.
7. once finished, play the game and see if it crashes, if yes then verify game files.
if it still doesn’t work, try this:
close UPlay and go to this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\logs (or whichever drive you installed to)
Delete all text files there, open UPlay and try to verify game files and let it fail, then navigate back to that folder and open these files:
Scroll down to the end and see what is the error posted in these two logs.
Post your findings here and YazX_ will be along to help you if need be.

Thank you for information. Game is stable. Removing, downloading, copying to another folder and redownloading doesn’t help. I can’t verify files after installing. service log is empty, launcher_log :

Короче, если данная проблема ещё актуальна, то просто заходите в Uplay > нажимаете на «Ваше имя пользователя» в правом верхнем углу и там будет сменить пользователя, выходите из аккаунта и после чего вводите свои данные и входите в Uplay, потом открываете стим и запускаете ещё раз игру, если ничего не изменилось, попробуйте, после всего выполненного перезапустить компьютер.

После удаления скачайте новую версию с портала Ubisoft! При этом рекомендуется устанавливать приложение по дефолтному пути (то есть на диск С, в папку Program Files). Авторизуйтесь в системе и попробуйте войти в игру еще раз.
Кроме того, ошибку «failed to synchronize achievements» в Uplay можно решить, запуская приложение от имени администратора. Для этого достаточно просто нажать на ярлычок программы правой кнопкой мышки и выбрать соответствующий пункт в выпадающем меню.
Отключение синхронизации
Обязательно расскажем, как удалить сохранения из облака Uplay и отключить синхронизацию – полная деактивация этой функции позволяет избавиться от массы неприятных проблем.

Uplay Update Failed
Reinstalled Windows 10 (x64/pro/FCU) fresh a day ago and with it Uplay. However, this time it always comes up with this message when I launch it, Continue works OK and Uplay launches, Try Again fails again.
What I tried: disabling antivirus, reinstall Uplay, launch as admin, ends up the same. Downloading the «latest» Uplay and installing fresh doesn’t work, it tries to update when I launch it and then fails.
Fixed by itself today. Guess there was something wrong with the servers/patch.
Uplay client update fail
Each time I start the Uplay client it fails updating.
Wonder what to do?
same uplay update issue here since 2 days now.
On different computers-the same problem. Technical support nothing but install / reinstall and clean cache can not say. UplayInstall v 52.1.5616 (from March 21)- tries to download patch 5623 and cannot install it.
Two days have to be missed. If you are prompted to delete the folder Ubisoft Game Launcher, do not FORGET that it contains a folder with all your save files.
I’m having the same issue, and been having that issue for 2-3 days now.

Hello from the official site, the Uplay client 52.1.5616 is downloaded, after installation the Uplay client can not upgrade to version 52.1.5623, I deleted the cache, it does not help, I reinstalled the Uplay client, it does not help either. Sorry for my english
Something is broken server side, or the patch itself is broke. Again, for me this simply fixed by itself, 3 days I had to press Continue to get past the errors on each Uplay launch, and then suddenly the next day it just worked, launched Uplay and it updated properly without a hitch, no need to delete cache or anything.
By the way, cache deletion can’t do too much good. In my case, I installed Uplay of a fully fresh OS install as I got a new SSD, and even like that, it still failed to update.
My advice is simply ignore this and it will probably just go away by itself. I know it’s frustrating and annoying that we don’t see a proper «we know what’s going on and we will fix it soon», but hey, this is Ubisoft. All we gonna get here is polite moderator answers with generic help. Even Support can’t offer more than that.
Support said that all the information gave developers. They know about this issue, finally! So, the best option is to wait. They have fortunately release FarCry 5 out tomorrow.
