Basic Auromancy

This section has three parts to it. The first part will require you to craft a Blank Lesser Focus. To do this, you need to add the following aspects to a Crucible:

Once this is done, add an Ordo Vis Crystal to the Crucible.

The easiest way to add these aspects is to first make Arcane Stone in your Arcane Workbench (make around 18). This can then be crafted into Arcane Stone Slabs, which then can be crafted into an Arcane Pedestal:

Note that this recipe does not require any crystals or Vis, and can therefore be crafted in a regular crafting table. Any crystal can be used to craft these stones, so this is a perfect recipe for getting rid of excess crystals you don’t want to smelt down.

Two Arcane Pedestals will give you the 10 Praecantatio. For the 5 Auram, you can use Silverwood Planks or a Silverwood Log. Four glass can be used for the 20 Vitreus you need.

For the Catalyst, you need an Ordo shard. You can get this by throwing lead into a Crucible and right clicking it with Quartz Slivers (Essence might be left over so you can safely sneak-right-click this).

Right-click or throw these into the Crucible, and then right-click with the Shard to get a Blank Lesser Focus and complete the first part of Basic Auromancy:

The next part will require you to build a Stone Table and then a Focal Manipulator. You need to check your current mod pack, as plate making may be different in each pack:

You need to “Examine Fire Very Closely” which basically means you will need to set yourself on fire:

Once you have crafted your Focal Manipulator, make sure you put it close to your Research Table so you can benefit from its bonuses. Complete the quest.

I had been trying to do the step of base auromany where you «examine fire very closely», and I had found online that this means that you catch yourself on fire. I did so many times and also died many times doing that. I don’t know why it won’t give me the research. I am using a mod that modifies myself, but I don’t think it affects fire values (vampirism- become a vampire). I just have no idea why dying of fire damage is not working of all things. I ended up having to give myself the full research.

Yeah fire protection buffs prevent you from getting the research

Its possible that anything that modifies fire resist might as well

While i dont know the specifics of your mod vampires usually have some kind of effects with burning

It does seem to work fine without vampirism. Just the presence or the vampire mod (without being a vampire) still allows it to work. However, it seems that being an actual vampire makes it no longer function. So I guess the only thing to do is get your thaumaturgy well on it’s way before you become a vampire.

Or you can reset yourself if you find/make a cleansing altar. But you would need to make sure you have the stuff you needed to get back to where you were as a vampire. I reported this on the Vampirism mod issues page to see what Maxanier can do to get around this.

It would be nice to somehow avoid this by triggering the research in a different way. Maybe the threshold for getting the research can be reduced (at least if Vampirism is installed) or Vampirism could trigger the research in a different way

Research (Thaumcraft 6)

Research is a core mechanic added by Thaumcraft 6. It allows the player to advance in Thaumcraft and create items featured in the Thaumonomicon — any player that does not have the appropriate research learned will not be able to craft or infuse the item even when all the necessary components are gathered.

To perform research, the player will need:

Gaining knowledge

There are two knowledge types: observations and theories. They are further separated into knowledge categories, one for each section of the Thaumonomicon. Their only use is unlocking further entries in the Thaumonomicon.

Both of these types can be also obtained by using curiosities or collecting experience when wearing the Headband of Curiosity.

Theorycrafting

The theorycrafting minigame is used to obtain theories. It is performed at the Research Table, consuming Paper, ink from Scribing Tools, and inspiration (represented by lightbulb icons). The amount of inspiration available increases with the player’s progress in the research tree.

Once a theory is started, two research cards are drawn. Each research card has an inspiration cost and an effect. Some cards require items listed on the bottom of the card to be picked; if the items are marked with a yellow exclamation mark, they will be consumed. Picking a card will apply its effect and allow for the next draw. The effect of most cards is adding research progress in a specific category. A few other common effects are granting extra inspiration at a cost of some research progress, or drawing extra cards in the next round.

Once the player runs out of inspiration, it is refilled, the research is completed and their research progress is added to their knowledge. Every 100% of stored progress in a category grants 1 theory of that category. Only the category with most progress will get the full bonus, all others will get a 33% penalty to the gained knowledge.

Inspiration can be spent before starting a fresh research session to activate nearby research aid blocks. Each activated research aid adds additional cards to the pool; these cards are marked with a glyphed border when drawn. For example, a Bookshelf adds three Study cards (which add progress to one category), two Notation cards (which move progress from one category to another), and one Universal Theory card.

Curiosities

Curiosities are rare items that grant theories and observations when used. They can be also consumed by research cards during theorycrafting to yield a moderate amount of progress. Most curiosities are much more likely to give progress in a specific category.

Researching

To unlock items and blocks, their respective entries in the Thaumonomicon must be researched. Each incomplete Thaumonomicon entry has a list of requirements to complete the current stage. Common requirements are:

Once all required items, observations and theories are gathered, and all other requirements are satisfied, the research stage can be progressed by clicking on the «Complete» button, usually unlocking new items, recipes, effects, etc. If the research entry is marked with purple clouds, completing it will also grant Warp to the player.

если память не изменяет, то это нужно либо изучить таумометром огонь, либо встать в огонь 😀 попробуй, я когда сам в прохождении игрался открыл это изучение после похода в ад

Thaumcraft 6

Thaumcraft 6 is a reimagining of the Thaumcraft 5 mod by Azanor. Thaumcraft is based off of the form of magic known as Thaumaturgy. A person who performs Thaumaturgy is called a Thaumaturge. This person is also defined as a person who works wonders and performs miracles using the magical essences inside physical objects.

The mod is currently in beta on 1.12.2. On January 14, 2019, Azanor announced that he has discontinued development. [1]

As of January 2019, Team CoFH has taken upon the port of the mod to newer versions, while Azanor remains as the the creative director. [2] No ports have been released yet, however.

Major changes from Thaumcraft 5

Thaumonomicon

To start Thaumcraft 6, a Thaumonomicon is required. This can be obtained by mining an Air Crystal, a Fire Crystal, a Water Crystal, an Earth Crystal, an Order Crystal, an Entropy Crystal, or a Flux Crystal. Once this is done, a message will appear encouraging the player to sleep in a Bed. After lying down in a bed (does not require sleeping through the night for servers), the player will receive a book titled Strange Dreams, which instructs them to use Salis Mundus on a Bookshelf to acquire the Thaumonomicon.

The Thaumonomicon is a reference book of all things thaumaturgical. It lists all the discoveries made so far and gives a general impression of how much is left to learn.

The player can browse through the discoveries and click on them to show more detailed information and any crafting recipes associated with those discoveries, plus any addendums they may have discovered.
